Yes, the containers are specifically designed to reduce sharps injuries via an extensive range of safety-engineered features, including temporary and permanent locks, puncture and leak-proof manufacturing, a transparent auditing window and an in-built safety tray. Peer reviewed and documented in numerous publications globally, the Sharpsmart system has proven greater reduction in sharps injuries than any other sharps containment system in the world. Our peer review study conducted across the globe in 2016 found that use of the Sharpsmart system provided significant reductions in sharps injuries in comparison to 10 alternate sharps container brands. Additionally we have also recently developed our ‘engineered safety device audit’ which will enable our customers to review the use of engineered safety syringes and other devices following disposal.
